- Mirrorstone Books
Mirrorstone is a new young reader imprint dedicated to quality series fiction. Currently it publishes the Dragonlance: The New Adventures series for which I write, as well as Knights of the Silver Dragon and Star Sisterz.
- Scholastic
Scholastic is the publisher of the Remnants series in addition to hundreds and hundreds of other books, the most famous of which is (of course) Harry Potter.
- Stan Brown
Stan! (as he goes by) wrote one novel in the Dragonlance: The New Adventures series—Volume 6: Dragon Day. He's long been involved in the world of gaming, and I think his foray into the YA Dragonlance world was one of the best volumes we've seen in the series so far.
- Emily Costello
Though known for writing series aimed at younger readers (as detailed on her web site), Emily was one of the Remnants writers and actually wrote the books I outlined for that series. She's wonderfully talented and I'm hoping to see her name on some new series in the future.
- Vinod Rams
Vinod is the incredibly cool cover and interior artist for the Dragonlance: The New Adventures books. I love his style and the feel his art gives our series. His site isn't up yet, but it's on its way and I definitely suggest checking it out once it's online!
- Neal Shusterman
I met Neal many years ago when I had a fan site for a book series called Animorphs. He was one of the writers for the TV show based on those books. Turns out he's also a prolific author of books for kids and teens. His Star Shards Trilogy stands as some of the best books I've ever read, and I highly recommend reading anything with his name on it!
- Linda Joy Singleton
Linda Joy is one of my many writing friends. She writes series books as well, the most current being The Seer and Strange Encounters, and was also the author of the well-received but sadly short-lived Regeneration books.
- Stephen D. Sullivan
Stephen is the author of one novel (so far) in the Dragonlance: The New Adventures series—Volume 2: The Dying Kingdom. His book was one of my favorites in the series and I'm hoping his schedule will allow him to come back to do more.
- Elsbet Vance
Elsbet Vance is a fantasy writer and artist, as well as a really good friend. Her amazing artwork is detailed on this site, as well as information on her other projects.
- Tim Waggoner
Tim is the author of two novels in the Dragonlance: The New Adventures series—Volume 1: Temple of the Dragonslayer and Volume 4: Return of the Sorceress.
- Absynthe Muse
A new web site exclusively for teen writers. If you're young and want to work to eventually be published, I recommend giving this site a look.
- The Purple Crayon
Created by editor Harold Underdown, who is also co-author of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Publishing Children's Books (which I proudly own), The Purple Crayon is a great resource for information on writing and get published.
- Verla Kay's Web Site for Children's Writers & Illustrators
If you're looking to eventually write or illustrate for kids and teens, Verla Kay's web site should be a site you check out daily. Aside from the many pages of information she gives on her main site, her message boards and chats are visited by everyone from the newest of writers to the most prolific of authors—all ready to answer any questions you may have. Many members of Verla's Kidlit message board and chat have gone on to publishing success, me included!
- Dragonlance Forums
A site dedicated solely to discussion of the Dragonlance series of novels.
- Serenity
The official web site for Serenity, the movie follow up to a sci-fi TV series called Firefly. Written and directed by Joss Whedon, this movie is not to be missed. I got to see one of the advanced screenings and was blown away.
- Television Without Pity
TWoP is a snarky, hilarious site dedicated to discussing TV, good and bad. The recaps and forums crack me up daily.
- Whedonesque
A site dedicated to all things Joss Whedon, one my writing idols.
Are there any web sites you think I should check out? Send me an e-mail and let me know!
